The North is not, despite what one might think, a country, but a collection of dispersed territories, ruled by the various tribes of The North. That it is talked about as a country at all, is only to make The North fit into a geopolitical landscape that it doesn’t belong to.

Correctly the lands between the Great Ranges and the lowlands should be named after the eight tribes that inhabits it: Asseu, Cecreineu, Estereu, Innin, Kesseneu, Nasseu, Sesseu, and Steya Senereu.

For much of the Continent’s history the North has been isolated by the area’s geography.

The Lowlands were among the first regions to see human settlements, about 42.000 BCE. But despite an early start, the North has always been a late adopter of new technologies. Agriculture was brought to the Lowlands from Elphinsteen, and by the middle of the Early Ages the North did see some foresting, mining, and agriculture. But

The demography of the North is diverse in that it consists of several autonomous tribes, that each have their own unique culture and demography.

The area is sparsely populated, with a population density much lower than that of the rest of the Continent. Much of the North is completely unpopulated, and there are vast stretches of land that has never been cultivated or populated.

The Innin tribe is by population the largest, followed by 2) Asseu, 3) Estereu, 4) Nasseu, 5) Cecreineu, 6) Kesseneu, 7) Steya Senereu, and 8) Sesseu.

The Lowlands are populated by the Innin, the Estereu, and the Kesseneu tribes; the Highlands by the Asseu, the Nasseu and the Cecreineu; and the Lakelands by the Steya Senereu and the Sesseu.

The most densely populated area is the Lowlands, which houses the capital city of Halifax as well as several major cities. Conversely the Northern Lakelands are almost completely unpopulated, besides a few scattered settlements. The population of the Highlands are centered around the mountain passes and various mining industries.
